Vinyasa means to move with the breath. In chair vinyasa, we use chairs to help us move in a sequence with the breath. We may sit in the chair while we practice, use t for stability, or use it to help us get off the floor. Using props like a chair helps us connect with our bodies and gain confidence in ourselves.
Sometimes in our practice, we choose to stay standing rather than getting up from the floor time and again. Below is a video in which I demonstrate one way to use the stability of the chair to remain in a standing position during a Sun Salutation.
